FY24 CRS Congressionally Directed Spending-Morgan Hill Grade Separations Project in Morgan Hill, CA: The Project involves environmental review and preliminary engineering (approximately 30% designs) for grade separations at E. Dunne and Tennant Avenue in the City of Morgan Hill, California, as well as a pedestrian underpass at the Morgan Hill Downtown Station. The California High Speed Rail (HSR) project intends to connect the mega-regions of the State running from San Francisco to Los Angeles in under three hours at speeds capable of over 200 miles per hour. The HSR project through Morgan Hill proposes utilizing the existing Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way with at grade crossings and no grade separations bisecting the city from east to west and impeding the ability for Police Department, Fire Department, and Emergency Medical Services from maintaining acceptable emergency response times and safely serving the community. Grade separating all crossings will support adequate emergency vehicle response times.
