Farm Bill Public Outreach and Communications: Overall Goal:. Promote Farm Bill conservation programs and services to a statewide audience of conservation leaders, stakeholders and producers. TSP is to focus on East/southeastern Idaho and primarily on positive work and future opportunities with the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (33 percent), the Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program (33 percent), the Conservation Reserve Program (34 percent) and related conservation programs, where applicable. Coordinate with State Public Affairs Specialist to complete Farm Bill Public Outreach Package for North/southwestern Idaho that can also be adapted for statewide use (excluding staffing opportunities).Public Outreach Package to Include:. Series of at least six Farm Bill success stories for use in the following way:. News releases sent out to North/southwestern Idaho media including daily and weekly newspapers, TV and radio stations, agricultural publications and conservation partner newsletters.. Brief articles and photos in statewide internal and external newsletters (i.e. SWCD), and the Idaho NRCS website.. Weekly public service announcements to radio stations in North/southwestern Idaho. . Posters and/or flyers for non-traditional agricultural venues (i.e. feed stores, equipment stores, grocery stores, etc.). Writing and design assistance of full-color multi-page, NRCS conservation programs brochure or related materials . Content creation, update, enhancement and promotion of North/southwestern Idaho SWCD websites.. Representation (staffing displays and/or publications) at agricultural events in North/southwestern Idaho with farmer/rancher audiences. TSP Responsibilities:. Work with NRCS district conservationists and local SWCDs to schedule site visits, producer and conservation partner interviews, and photos of top six EQIP, FRPP and/or CRP conservation projects in North/southwestern Idaho.. Monthly news releases sent out to North/southwestern Idaho media including daily and weekly newspapers, TV, radio along with agricultural publications and conservation partner newsletters.. Four or more feature stories placed in media including producer and conservation partner interviews and photos (can be spin-offs of news releases).. Periodic contribution (articles and photos) to Idaho NRCS newsletters- Executive Update, eNewsbytes-and the website.. Work with federal, state, local conservation agencies and groups to identify partnership opportunities for NRCS at local fairs, conferences, and other agricultural settings within a two-hour commuting range. . Work with NRCS district conservationists, local SWCDs and conservation partners to help field offices in North/southwestern Idaho find outlets for their publications and assist with distribution.
