Geoscientists-in-the-Parks Internships: A. Project Goals ¿ The Geoscientists-in-the-Parks internships provide opportunities for college students, recent graduates, and early career professionals to complete important natural resource science conservation projects in national parks, provide young adults with structured, safe and challenging work and educational opportunities through employment projects that promote personal growth, the development of life skills, and an ethic of natural resource stewardship. B. Project Objectives ¿ Overall program objectives are to complete natural resource science projects in NPS units (parks, networks, and central offices) that focus on inventory and monitoring, research, and education and outreach projects. The objectives and outcomes for each project are defined by the benefitting NPS unit that hosts the intern.
