Grants for Injury Control Research Centers: The purposes of this program are: 1)To support injury prevention and control research on priority issues; 2)To integrate the disciplines of engineering, epidemiology, medicine, biostatistics, public health, criminal justice, behavioral and social sciences in order to prevent and control injuries more effectively; 3)To identify risk and protective factors that can be used to design and test injury prevention and control strategies; and 4) To provide technical assistance to injury prevention and control programs within a geographic region. Eligible applicants are limited to organizations in Region Two (New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands), Region Three (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia), and Region Six (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas). Non-Academic applicant institutions should provide evidence of a collaborative relationship with an academic institution.
