HELIX APS: Cambodia Information Technology Partnership for Workforce Development Addendum: The Cambodian Information Technology Partnership for Workforce Development Activity is to (1) create a cohort of Cambodian youth with enterprise-driven skills, training, and qualifications that will help them contribute to Cambodian society and succeed in a modern digital economy, and (2) support an open internet and freedom of information exchange in order to encourage competition, innovation, and promote international standards for IT certification in order to advance Cambodia's self-reliance in the digital age. As the world's fastest growing digital economy, the Indo-Pacific region, including Cambodia, has the potential to be an even more valuable market for U.S. and partner countries' companies. The activity will use and promote technology that contribute to building the foundation for an open internet that empowers people, provides equal access to information, enhances economic development, and amplifies citizens' voices. USAID/Cambodia seeks to strengthen information technology-related Bachelor's degree(s) and short-term programs in order to provide Cambodian graduates with essential IT skills, critical thinking, soft skills, experiential learning, and internationally recognized certifications and credentials needed by local and international businesses in a digital age and the digital economy. The activity will help to build the labor force needed to enable Cambodian businesses and organizations to have the technical competencies to fulfill their ambitions to expand digital technology and digital access, thus reducing dependence on outside expertise and influence.
