HIV and Psychiatric Comorbidity Research Project (R01): - The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and its Center for Mental Health Research on AIDS invite applications addressing the cellular, molecular, and genetic factors underlying the high comorbidity between HIV-1 infection and psychiatric disorders.-NIMH intends to commit approximately $1,250,000 in total costs in FY 2007 to fund 4 grants in response to this RFA and RFA-MH-07-021.-This RFA will use the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) award mechanism.-This RFA is issued in conjunction with RFA-MH-07-021 for R21 applications.-Eligible organizations include for-profit or non-profit organizations; public or private institutions, such as universities, colleges, hospital, and laboratories, units of state and local government, domestic or foreign institutions/organizations, and faith-based or community-based organizations.-Eligible principal investigators include any individual with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply for NIH support.-Each applicant may submit one application.-See Section IV.1 for application materials.-Telecommunications for the hearing impaired is available at: TTY 301-451-0088.
