Informatics Training for Global Health (ITGH) (D43): Purpose. The Fogarty International Center (FIC), in collaboration with the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), invites applications for the establishment or continuation of training programs in Informatics for Global Health to address the needs of low and middle income country (LMIC) institutions for experts in information technologies and associated sciences to conduct and contribute to biomedical and behavioral research. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH D43 grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The participating NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs) intend to commit approximately $1.5 million in fiscal year 2009 to fund five to six new and/or competing continuation grants in response to this FOA.
