International AIDS Education and Training Center: The purpose of the International AIDS Education and Training Center is to assist countries in Africa, Asia Latin America and the Caribbean LAC, heavily affected by HIVAIDS with developing systems of care to increase capacity for sustainable high quality comprehensive HIV primary care, and support service delivery to people living with HIVAIDS. The IAETC will enhance skills and training capacity in the areas of prevention care and treatment of HIV disease, including the prevention of perinatal transmission of the disease, treatment of opportunistic infections, appropriate use of antiretroviral therapy and implementation of community home based care.

Additional Information on Eligibility
Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs) are eligible for this competition. Public or non-profit private entities, including schools and academic health sciences centers, community-based and faith-based organizations are eligible to apply for the award. Applicants must have both domestic U.S. and international experience in providing technical assistance to HIV/AIDS-service organizations, and must demonstrate a clear understanding of the principles and theory of human and organizational capacity-development. Applicants need not have had a financial or contractual relationship with the U.S. Government in the past. All applicants must have substantive experience (for at least five years) in providing or facilitating technical assistance and support on issues related to the prevention and treatment of HIV, including community outreach, social support programs, and the prevention of mother-to-child transmission, and must have substantiated experience with twinning of programs and institutions in the United States with counterparts overseas. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to collect and analyze data for program monitoring and conduct program evaluation.
