Lake Mead Hatchery Native Fish Rearing: This project will support continued efforts towards research, monitoring and conservation of the endangered razorback sucker (Xyrauchen texanus, RASU) and bonytail (Gila elegans, BONY). Efforts will advance Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program (LCR MSCP) Lake Mead RASU work tasks C13, C57, and D8, Lake Mohave RASU work tasks C61 and D8 and Reach 3 flannelmouth sucker (Catostomus latipinnis, FLSU) work task C53. The Recipient will provide, operate, and maintain dedicated fish rearing facilities at Lake Mead Hatchery (LMH) and Overton Wildlife Management Area (OWMA) for production of RASU, BONY, and FLSU. Activities include rearing of wild-caught larvae and grow-out of post larval and sub-adult RASU, BONY, and flannelmouth sucker, and include the continued rearing of RASU and FLSU from year classes 2010, 2011, and 2012 that are currently on station.
