Lead Outreach Program: The purpose of this lead outreach grant program is to: 1. Increase enrollment of low-income housing units in lead hazard control treatment programs; 2. Develop and distribute outreach and educational materials to raise public awareness of childhood lead poisoning, its prevention, and proper lead hazard identification and control methods for at-risk communities, at-risk populations of children and workers in the housing maintenance or rehabilitation fields; and 3. Encourage occupants to identify potential lead-based paint hazards and report them to property owners, managers, and/or public health or housing officials, as appropriate.
