Management Development for Women and Minorities in Corrections Curriculum Update: This cooperative agreement is for the solicitation of proposals to enter into a 12-month cooperative agreement to update a training curriculum for a 40 hour program,[FHL1] which will focus on management development for Women and Minorities in corrections. The curriculum should be written in in ITIP Format and designed for 30 participants. The applicant package for this solicitation should demonstrate at least 10 years of corrections experience with an understanding and/or experience in correctional mid and upper management. The applicant package should demonstrate experience in corrections training including security and civilian staff. Program content should include: the current status of Women and Minorities in correctional leadership positions; the challenges to career advancement faced by Women and Minorities in corrections; identification of managerial and leadership styles, skills and techniques; problem-solving; attitudinal barriers faced by Women and Minorities; the development of goals and an action plan to guide the development of his/her career as a manager; exploration of their agency mission as it relates to mid-management advancement; additional resource and reference information; and an after-training workbook.

NIC invites applications from nonprofit organizations (including faith-based, community, and tribal organizations), for-profit organizations (including tribal for-profit organizations), and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education). Recipients, including for-profit organizations, must agree to waive any profit or fee for services. NIC welcomes applications that involve two or more entities; however, one eligible entity must be the applicant and the others must be proposed as subrecipients. The applicant must be the entity with primary responsibility for administering the funding and managing the entire program.
