Manufacturing Technology Support (MATES): MATES will support and enhance the mission of the Manufacturing Technology Division of the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate (AFRL/MLM), Air Force Research Laboratory by providing highly experienced Engineering and Scientific expertise to achieve the following objectives. - Provide management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary for providing integrated business, technical, and programmatic support for management, execution, and process refinement initiatives for the Air Force Industrial Preparedness and Defense Production Act (DPA) Programs. The Air Force Industrial Preparedness Programs include the Manufacturing Technology (ManTech), Industrial Base Planning (IBP), and the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) program. The Defense Production Act includes both Title I, Defense Priorities Assistance, & Title III programs. - Provide a capability to conduct research, technical analysis, development, design and prototyping in all aspects of manufacturing to evaluate and/or validate the maturity of concepts and capabilities for further consideration. - Assist in conducting planning, studies, assessments, and analyses that enable AFRL/MLM to establish and execute technical policies, initiatives and direction satisfying current and foreseeable Air Force Requirements. - Support AFRL/MLM activities to advocate Air Force Industrial Preparedness Programs and DPA Programs, transition developed technologies and capabilities, and identify partnership opportunities.
