Media Training for Minority Journalists: The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Affairs Office (PA) for a project to support professional training for minority journalists in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region (IKR), Ninewa plain and Kirkuk province. In cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and the U.S. Consulate in Erbil, this project will help minority journalists to develop their professional skills, to include investigative reporting and human rights reporting. The program should last approximately one year and include journalists from various minority communities in northern Iraq. Funding of this grant directly supports Section IV of the bilateral Strategic Framework Agreement by strengthening the development of Iraq's future leaders through training programs.
