Medications Development Centers of Excellence (P50): -Purpose. This FOA issued by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institutes of Health, solicits Center Grant (P50) applications to provide support for research centers (Medications Development Centers of Excellence) dedicated to clinical research directed towards the identification, evaluation and development of safe and effective medications for treatment of substance related disorders (SRDs), alone or with comorbid conditions. Research may focus on both currently approved and/or novel, investigational medications. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the P50 center grant mechanism. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. It is anticipated that $7,500,000 in total costs will be awarded to a total of 5-7 applications for this announcement.
