Minority AIDS Initiative Programs for Part B Grantees: The over-arching purpose of MAI grant programs is to evaluate and address the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS on, and the disparities in access, treatment, care, and outcomes for, racial and ethnic minorites (including African American, Alaska Natives, Latinos, American Indian, Asian American, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.)Part B MAI funding is a new grant program for supplemental support education and outreach services to increase the number of eligible racial and ethnic minorities who have access to treatment through the program under the Part B AIDS Durg Assistance Program for therapeutics.
