Multi-Sectoral Interventions in Pastoralist Communities in the Horn of Africa to Increase Resiliency to Aggregate Shocks: USAID/OFDA?s mandate is to save lives and reduce human suffering and reduce the economic impact of disasters. In order to achieve this goal in pastoral communities, USAID/OFDA is seeking applications for small-scale, community-based pilot activities to be carried out in pastoral regions in the Horn of Africa [specifically, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Kenya, Sudan (excluding Darfur), and Uganda]. These activities may operate either in agro-pastoral or nomadic pastoral communities, but should be based on community needs as ascertained through dialogue and discussions with a broad range of community members
