NWS Severe Weather Program: This funding opportunity will support a study that evaluates how customers and the public receive and interpret operational products, and then make critical decisions. The study should apply social science research techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of current operational products, including graphics and uncertainty information, and to suggest more effective alternatives. It is expected the results of this study will be of interest to operational units, as well as emergency managers, public officials, and the weather enterprise as a whole.
