Nasa Cooperative Ageement Notice (Can) - Leading Educators to Applications, Research, and Nasa-Related Educational Resources in Science-Ii: The NASA Learning Technologies Project (LTP) isNASA's educational technology incubator. The Learning Technologies Projectis part of the Educational Technology Program of NASA's Education Division.The Learning Technologies Project funds activities that incorporate NASAcontent with revolutionary technologies or innovative use of entrenchedtechnologies to enhance education in the areas of math and science. NASAcontent refers to information that will highlight NASA's personnel,facilities, and missions from one or more of the five Enterprises. Toaccomplish this, the LTP couples the entrepreneurial talents of theeducation professionals, commercial industry, academia, non-profitenterprises, educational foundations, and NASA to develop educationaltechnology that engages and educates learners who may have diversebackgrounds, characteristics, and abilities. The purpose of this LEARNERS (Leading Educators to Applications, Research,& NASA-related Educational Resources in Science) Cooperative AgreementNotice(CAN) is to help focus research and development in education that highlightNASA's scientific, engineering, and technology contributions. In order toachieve this objective, LEARNERS will support the development of remoteexperiences of NASA missions through virtual reality using computer-basedinteractive environments, and where possible, maximize the delivery of theseexperiences through sensory-rich immersive technology.LEARNERS seeks innovative educational technology products for delivery ofNASA content directly to learners via various venues including stand-aloneand internet-based computers, the classroom, tech museums, science centers,and other learning environments. Recipients shall incorporate currentresearch on teaching and learning with technology to achieve meaningfulutilization of innovative and immersive technology in the learningenvironment. LEARNERS seeks products that enhance the ability to representNASA missions and activities as virtual experiences, engaging and immersingthe learner in as much of a sensory experience as relates to an effectivelearning experience. Total funding for this CAN is $750,000 per year to be divided among thecooperative agreement recipients.
