- Per 42 CFR § 51a.3(a), any public or private entity, including an Indian tribe or tribal organization (as those terms are defined at 25 U.S.C. 450b) is eligible to apply. Faith-based and community-based organizations are eligible to apply. An applicant may NOT apply concurrently for funding to become the lead organization for both the National Genetics Education and Family Support Center and the National Coordinating Center for the Regional Genetics Networks (HRSA-17-084); or both the Family Center and a Regional Genetics Network (HRSA-17-082). If an applicant does apply for two funding opportunities, it will be considered non-responsive and both applications will be disqualified. Foreign entities are not eligible for HRSA awards, unless the authorizing legislation specifically authorizes awards to foreign entities or the award is for research. This exception does not extend to research training awards or construction of research facilities.
