Natural Resources Management Education and Training of Cottage Grove Area High School Students: The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District intends to enter into a cooperative agreement to provide training and education to students in natural resource management within the community adjacent to Dorena and Cottage Grove Lakes. The school programs provide students with empowerment through environmental education and work experience thereby fostering a sense of ownership over the land surrounding their community. A cooperative agreement with an education institution near Dorena and Cottage Grove Lakes will provide educational benefits and awareness to neighbors, frequent users, and future stewards of the locations. This agreement represents an opportunity to enter into a cooperative agreement which will allow Cottage Grove Area conservation corps students to complete education-based restoration tasks on USACE Project lands.
