Notice of Funding Opportunity for Network of Women in Archaeology: The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Lima is pleased to announce a limited competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunity. The program proposes the creation of a network of women working in the archaeological field. The U.S. Embassy's Public Affairs Section invites archaeologists, cultural and education institutions to design and present a plan for the creation of this network. The goal of this network is to advance the work of women in this field, amplify their voices, and offer women archaeologists support and advice to overcome gender-based challenges that hinder their ability to protect and to preserve Peru's cultural heritage. The network should also serve as a tool to highlight the work of both senior and more recent professionals and disseminate opportunities in the field, both in Peru and the U.S. The network should be supported by a social media platform(s), and communications channels should include virtual and in-person event(s) when possible. If selected, the grantee must be able to carry out the following activities: • Create a large database of women working in archaeology in Peru, to serve as a professional and personal resource for network members. • Design a network which includes female archaeologists in both Peru and the United States (particularly those working on projects related to Peru). • Create and maintain a hub for this network on a social media platform to encourage networking, communication, community, research, and the exchange of ideas. • Launch a mentoring project where senior archaeologists offer support to upcoming archaeologists and recent graduates through informal conversations. This mentorship project should include two virtual sessions per year and start with at least 3 Peruvian and 3 U.S. volunteers from different regions in the U.S. and Peru. • Promote the exchange of information via virtual and in-person events (at least 3 events per year with members of the network). • Organize at least 2 virtual or in-person events where senior and upcoming professionals can share their accomplishments to foster leadership development. • Invite the Colegio Nacional de Arqueólogos, Ministry of Culture, and universities with archaeological programs to provide input and advice. • Outreach to raise awareness about the network to target audiences through social media (including paid advertisements) and the participation of U.S and Peruvian universities, the Colegio Nacional de Arqueologos and the Ministry of Culture. • Provide a plan for sustainability of the network after the conclusion of the grant. * For Spanish version go to: https://pe.usembassy.gov/es/education-culture-es/oportunidades-de-financiamiento/
