OJJDP FY 18 Improving Juvenile Reentry Programs Capacity for Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting: The program will provide funding to enhance state and local programs’ data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts through technical support to implement recommendations from OJJDP’s Initiative to Develop Juvenile Reentry Measurement Standards. OJJDP launched the Juvenile Reentry Measurement Standards project in FY 2015 to establish a model to assist jurisdictions in measuring services and outcomes in juvenile reentry. The standards aim to align measurement practices across jurisdictions, and improve the assessment of juvenile reentry services' impact on public safety and youth’s successful rehabilitation and reintegration back into their communities. The current program will provide technical assistance to implement the standards focused on effective strategies for cross-system collaborations in data-sharing and measuring reentry services and outcomes, including best practices for measuring reoffending and recidivism so that it can be measured and monitored across programs and jurisdictions. While priority will be given to OJJDP-funded programs, requests for assistance will be considered from any state or local jurisdiction seeking to improve their measurement of juvenile reentry services and outcomes.
