Additional Information on Eligibility
Eligible applicants are limited to multi-state organizations, defined as organizations that have operated an established mentoring program for at least 3 years, have active chapters or subawardees in at least 5 states, and will serve at-risk, high-risk, or underserved youth across all 5 states. For purposes of this solicitation, two or more independent organizations that form a collaborative to cover five states do not meet the criteria of OJJDP’s definition of a multi-state mentoring organization. Applicants cannot be a national organization or a chapter or subawardee of a national organization, which OJJDP defines as an organization that has active chapters or subawardees in at least 45 states. Please note: The definition of National organization has change from the OJJDP FY 14 Multi-State Mentoring solicitation posted on March 27, 2014. For-profit organizations must agree to forgo any profit or management fee. Eligible applicants must provide mentoring services to youth who are 17 years old or younger. OJJDP may elect to make awards for applications submitted under this solicitation in future fiscal years, dependent on the merit of the applications and on the availability of appropriations in future years.
