Opportunity 09HQPA0021: USGS will support the replacement of outdated equipment used to monitor and report on earthquake activity in the U.S. and will improve the data centers and processing capabilities that generate earthquake information products and manage seismic data. These upgrades will further the development of the Advanced National Seismic System. Systems to be upgraded will include existing urban, regional and national seismic networks. Support for objectives to be completed by the resulting assistance awards will utilize funds provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. All applications must be submitted through grants.gov. Complete instructions are included in the program announcement. The USGS will no longer follow the two-track approach set forth in the original synopsis of June 2, 2009. Applications submitted by any other means than grants.gov will NOT be considered.
