Owl Mountain Partnership: The Owl Mountain Partnership (OMP) is a partnership to develop an integrated, prototype decision-making process for resolving a variety of resource conflicts using principles of ecosystem management. The intent is to fully address and pursue sound landscape management programs, policies, and practices to assure ecosystem health and sustainability while serving economic, cultural and social needs of the public and private sectors. Currently, it is the only such project in Jackson County (North Park). The Service and OMP have been working cooperatively on fish and wildlife habitat restoration projects for numerous years. The agencies have developed a framework for developing and implementing successful projects. The estimated value of this agreement over a 5 year period is $100,000. OMP is the only such cooperative agency in North Park. The individuals working with OMP are local, and as such, know the area and the needs of the area. This knowledge allows the two agencies to work well together. The two agencies have developed this working relationship over time and have found that the time invested to date has grown into a productive, cooperative effort.
