Parliamentary Strengthening Program: The USAID/Haiti Mission desires to implement a Parliamentary Strengthening Program through a Cooperative Agreement. USAID considers continued legislative assistance an important element of its strategic engagement on democracy and governance in Haiti. The purpose of this program is to assist in the development of the Parliaments institutional capacity, to promote transparency in legislative processes, and to facilitate representation through the provision of technical assistance, training, staffing and material assistance. Subject to the availability of funds, USAID anticipates that approximately $15 million will be available over a period of five years for this assistance program.
