Pashto Language Radio Program - Parenting Skills, Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy, Kabul, Afghanistan: PAS Kabul invites all eligible organizations to submit a proposal for a Pashto-language radio program focused on teaching strategies to help parents promote the physical, psychosocial, and educational success of their school-aged and adolescent children. This cooperative agreement will fund the development and broadcast of a Pashto-language radio program to provide parents with information and strategies for raising healthy, successful children. While the show will be aimed primarily at women, it will feature guest experts of both genders and address a variety of topics key to raising successful school-age children and adolescents – from basic nutrition and health advice to building self-confidence, effective communication and active listening, fostering achievement in school, teaching respect and non-violence, encouraging community service and civic involvement, and avoiding recruitment by extremist groups. The show may also feature periodic call-ins and question-and-answer sessions with listeners. PAS intends to issue an award for a period of 12 months.

Eligibility is open to all types of applicants except for 1) individuals and 2) Afghan government entities. Please refer to Section D for funding restrictions. Organizations may sub-award/contract with other entities, but only one entity can be the prime recipient of the award.
