Program to Conduct and Coordinate Site-Specific Activities: CDCs Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, Program to Conduct and Coordinate Site-Specific Activities. $9,000,000 [this amount is an estimate, and subject to the availability of funds] will be available in fiscal year 2006 to fund up to 30 awards. The purposes of the program are for recipients to 1) identify pathways of exposure to hazardous waste sites and releases, and 2) identify, implement, and coordinate public health interventions to reduce exposures to hazardous substances at levels of health concern. Assistance will be provided only to the health departments (or their bona fide agents) of states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Palau, and federally recognized Indian tribal governments. In consultation with states, assistance may be provided to political subdivisions of states.
