Region 2 Notice of Request for Proposals for Onondaga Creek Water Quality Monitoring Information Transfer to the Onondaga Nation: Geospatial information is one of the many eligible activities. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 2 is soliciting Proposals from qualified applicants for an Onondaga Creek Water Quality Monitoring Information Transfer to the Onondaga Nation with Source Water Protection. The overall project study area is the Onondaga Lake watershed in central New York. The Onondaga Nation territory covers a 7,300 acre area in the Onondaga Creek sub-watershed of Onondaga Lake, New York. Onondaga Creek and several tributaries of the creek flow through the Onondaga Nation territory. Onondaga Creek is a major tributary of Onondaga Lake, which has been identified as one of the most polluted water bodies in the United States. The lake bottom and a number of areas proximate to the lake are listed as federal Superfund sites. Onondaga Creek and Onondaga Lake are tightly linked with respect to water quality, ecological concerns, and management issues.
