Repair and Replace Split Rail Fence: The National Park Service (NPS), Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts (WOTR) will be providing a cooperative agreement with an SCA organization the replacement of the parks deteriorated split rail fencing system. Approximately 6000 linear feet of rail fence, 660 locust line posts and 50 locust corner post will be replaced with 1,980 hemlock rails, 660 locust line post and 50 locust corner posts.Project is to replace deteriorated fence rail fence in the park around the Filene Center Gill's Hill and East lot. The fence was installed with poor quality wood and is showing severe rot throughout the entire fence system. As a result of the deterioration, the fence system is failing (broken/ falling over) in numerous locations. The fence system is used to delineate parking areas, visitor paths and garden areas in the parkDEMO 1.) Demo approximately 6000 LF of old split rail fence, 660 locust line post, 50 locust corner post and disposal of old fence material in high use areas of the park (Filene Center, Gill's Hill parking area and East lot)2.) Clearing all brush encroaching on fence lines REPLACE Split Rail, Line Post and Corner PostApproximately 6000 linear feet of rail fence, 660 locust line posts and 50 locust corner post will be replaced with 1,980 hemlock rails, 660 locust line post and 50 locust corner posts in same locations and post holes.
