Retirement Research Consortium: As authorized under Section 1110 of the Social Security Act, the Social Security Administration (SSA) seeks applications from domestic universities or other post-secondary degree granting entities to create Retirement Research Consortiums in order to provide education and fund research efforts to support reforms that ensure sustainable solvency and more responsive programs. For-profit organizations may apply with the understanding that no funds may be paid as profit to any awardee. Profit is considered as any amount in excess of the allowable costs of the award recipient. Awards pursuant to this announcement will be in the form of cooperative agreements. A cooperative agreement, as distinct from a grant, anticipates substantial involvement between SSA and the grantee, during performance. Available for your review is the Program Announcement that appears in the Federal Register ( http://www.access.gpo.gov ). You may also view or download the Application Kit, available at www.ssa.gov/oag/grants, or available directly from the Social Security Administration Grants Management Team, as explained in the program announcement. After reviewing the program announcement and the application form, instructions, and other accompanying documents, if you decide you are interested in submitting an application, you may print the Application Form SSA-96-BK, the Additional Assurances, the Disclosure of Lobbying Activities Form (if appropriate) and the Application Acknowledgement Record Form, SSA-3966.
