San Nicolas Island Fox Monitoring: The purpose of this Agreement is to meet the objectives in the San Nicolas Island (SNI), Naval Base Ventura County Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) to maintain a viable population of SNI fox (Urocyon littoralis dickey) and to implement the SNI Biosecurity Plan. The primary objectives of this research project are to continue the established annual fox monitoring program; conduct the field portion of the fox monitoring program; consolidate data collected; have dead foxes necropsied; have island fox scat analyzed; vaccinate island fox; and conduct research on trap designs implement a pilot trapping study to capture chukar (Alectoris chukar).
