Santiam River Basin Inventory, Marion & Linn Counties, Oregon: This inventory project will identify and document fish passage barriers in the highest priority streams and rivers of Marion and Linn Counties. Many local, county, state, federal agencies, and private landowners have completed inventories and assessments of fish passage barriers and then tried to correct these barriers without knowledge of other barriers throughout the watershed. These efforts often have limited results because it is later determined that there are additional barriers downstream and upstream limiting access to fish habitat. This endeavor will allow for successfully addressing these problems by collecting existing data on fish passage barriers, fish population, water quality, and habitat data from agency and local partners into a central database. The data collected will be used to prioritize fish passage barriers and generate maps.
