Section 106 Archaeological Survey For Nttr: The purpose of this project is to conduct a reconnaissance and pedestrian archaeological survey for Section 106 purposes on the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) of 200 acres which will be defined as the Area of Potential Effect (APE). The NTTR has proposed a need to develop Mountain Side Targets for training. These targets will be subject to live fire thus there will be direct impacts to the APE. The actual target area will constitute 150 acres plus a 50 acre buffer totaling 200 acres. Nellis Air Force Base (NAFB) has an obligation under Section 106 of 36 CFR 800 the National Historic Preservation to identify potential historic properties in the APE. The NFE must be able to pass background security check in order to work on the NTTR. NFE should be culturally sensitive to Native Americans and have previous work experience in the Great Basin and or Mojave Desert. NAFB CRM will act as the NTTR escort for this project.
