South India Hack2Help Hackathons: The United States, as part of its partnership with India, supports India’s efforts to build a stronger internal capacity, especially in rural areas. Recipients will host three collaborative Hack2Help Hackathons in the South Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala with the aim of bringing applicable technology and digital infrastructure to often underserved populations in South India
Hack2Help Hackathons will bring together civil society organizations, community leaders, IT professionals and academics/thought leaders for 48-hour themed meet-ups to brainstorm and innovate on-the-spot solutions to specific problems falling in the following areas: gender-based violence, energy and climate change, education, business and entrepreneurship, countering violent extremism, disaster management, etc. After each Hack2Help Hackathon, recipients will promote and replicate hackathon solutions/applications across India and the region in coordination with the Consulate Geeneral, and NGO and hacker contact networks.

- Eligibility is open to all non-profit, non-governmental organizations. Individuals are not eligible for an award under this Request for Proposal (RFP).
Organizations may sub-contract with other entities, but only one, non-profit, non-governmental entity can be the prime recipient of the award. When sub-contracting with other entities, the responsibilities of each entity must be clearly defined in the proposal.
