Supplements for Methodological Innovations in the Behavioral and Social Sciences: The Institutes, Centers and Offices of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) invite NIH-funded investigators to submit supplemental research grant applications to develop methodological innovations in the behavioral and social sciences. These modest supplements will support the addition of a methodological development component to already-funded NIH research projects. Methodology issues include research design, data collection techniques, measurement, and data analysis techniques in the social and behavioral sciences. The goal of this RFA is to encourage methodological and technological innovation that will improve the quality and scientific power of data collected in the behavioral and social sciences. Development of methodology and technology for multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, multimethod, and multilevel analytic approaches that integrate behavioral and social science research with biomedical research is particularly encouraged.
