Supporting Fiscal Transparency in Ethiopia: This project enhances the USG's efforts to support Ethiopia's economic and political reforms that are spearheaded by the Prime Minister. The activities are developed in consultation with relevant GOE agencies including the Ministry of Finance, the House of People's Representatives, and the Office of the Auditor General. There was also a close consultation and coordination with other development partners including the European Union, IMF, and DFID. The Development Hypothesis is that if public accountability institutions and the government's reporting systems are strengthened, then budget transparency and public accountability will improve. The project seeks to build capacity at the following institutions: Ministry of Finance (MoF) House of Peoples' Representatives (HOPR) Office of the Auditor General (OFAG) The project will have the following three objectives to improve fiscal/budget transparency; Objective 1: Strengthen Accounting and Reporting Capabilities of the MOF Objective 2: Build Capacity of Legislature to Oversee Budget Objective 3: Improve Audit Policies and Procedures of the Office of the Auditor General (OFAG)
