THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS- Prepare a Digital GIS Historic Map of Charles Young Trails- CHYO- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Cooperative Agreement Number P15AC00020 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and Greening Youth Foundation (Recipient), for the purpose of working with diverse, underserved and underrepresented children, youth and young adults in an effort to develop and nurture enthusiastic and responsible environmental stewards. Unless otherwise specified herein, the terms and conditions as stated in the Master Cooperative Agreement will apply to this Task Agreement. Project Title: Prepare a Digital GIS Historic Map of Charles Young Trails Project Description: The objective of this Task Agreement is to recruit four interns through the Greening Youth Foundation to serve as GIS Mapping Research Assistants who will advance the mission of the Col. Charles Young Historic site by providing research on Young's travels and locations during his entire life span. This information will be used to connect visitors (which include children, adults, and families) to the legacy of Col. Charles Young and his work as a Buffalo Soldier. The chief goal of this internship will be completed by utilizing primary research through GIS data to explore what took place in the life of Col. Charles Young from 1864-1922, and interpreting those findings to the public using walking tours, illustrated talks, and social media. STATEMENT OF WORK RECIPIENT AGREES TO: A. Greening Youth Foundation agrees to recruit 4 interns to: 1. Conduct research in archives, libraries and repositories connected the life and times of Col. Charles Young. 2. Interpret historic documents and gain permissions to publish information to be posted on the digital story map connected to the life and history of Col. Charles Young. 3. Collaborate with NPS GIS Specialist remotely in the Midwest Regional Office weekly to discuss data collection process. 4. Conduct presentations on research findings in the greater Wilberforce/ Dayton community. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AGREES TO: 1. Provide general orientation to park operations and NPS Mission to interns. 2. Select and manage interns and their related work projects. 3. Provide the tools and materials necessary to complete the research. 4. Provide archival, interpretive, safety and GIS training necessary for the interns to complete the research. 5. Provide subject matter experts to interns who will clarify issues found during research process. 6. Provide interns the workspace to produce a digital map of the Charles Young Trail to work remotely with regional support staff. 7. Review and approve one stage of work before the next stage can begin. 8. Direct or redirect the work because of interrelationships with other projects. 9. Halt an activity if detailed performance specifications are not met.
