Trail Maintenance on the Portage Creek (Joe Thompson) Trail: Project Goals- Backcountry hiking will become more accessible from the Park¿s main field office and Visitor Center in Port Alsworth, to the popular areas in the north, ie. Portage Creek Trail (including one of the most visited National Historic Landmarks in the park, Richard Proenneke¿s Cabin) as well as other western areas of the park.Project Objectives ¿ Brush and maintain the only trail that provides visitor and public use trail access to Lake Clark¿s northern alpine country.
