Training Clinical Veterinarians in Nonhuman Primate Clinical Medicine(R25): -Purpose: This funding opportunity announcement solicits applications to provide clinical education for veterinarians interested in pursuing a career in nonhuman primate (NHP) clinical medicine. Additional Information on Eligibility
Foreign institutions are not eligible to apply. Applicants are required to include a plan for Training in the Responsible Conduct of Research (see Section IV.6). An eligible institution may submit only a single R25 application in response to this funding opportunity, regardless of the number of eligible NCRR funded mechanisms held. The intent of this FOA is to establish education programs in NHP clinical medicine designed to prepare veterinarians for clinical management of a variety of NHP species used in NIH supported research projects. It is incumbent upon the applicant institution to clearly demonstrate the institutional capabilities and resources to provide a program that is broadly based, such that participant residents will be prepared to independently provide clinical support for NHPs bred or purchased for use in biomedical, behavioral, and translational research.
