US Decision Makers Course: This Single Source Award is being made in accordance with Department of Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B(1), which allows for award without competition to an applicant who is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based on a number of criteria. In this case, International Conservation (ICCF) works with the International Conservation Caucus (ICC) in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate to inform policy-makers regarding international conservation. The ICCF educates policy-makers and their staff members so that they might effectively incorporate international conservation measures into activities they support and ultimately mitigate conservation crisis. The ICCF has a direct working relationship with the ICC and is uniquely qualified to engage Congressional staff and to carry out a conservation course for them in Costa Rica . The Wildlife Without Borders - Latin America and Caribbean program has supported the implementation of a yearly course for U.S. policy-makers in Costa Rica for the past eleven years.
