U.S. Embassy Bangui PDS Annual Program Statement: Purpose of Small Grants: PDS invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and the Central African Republic through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include a U.S. cultural element, or connection with U.S. expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding ofU.S. policy and perspectives.Priority Program Areas:· Strengthening people-to-people ties that reinforce democratic values and institutions by explaining U.S. policies, culture, and values to Central African audiences· Increase the capacity of journalists to combat and expose disinformation· Enhance the Central African public’s media literacy· Increase civic engagement in Central African society· Promote English language capacity through projects that encourage the use and learning of English as a tool for civic and economic development
