U.S. Government Alumni Small Grants Competition: U.S. Embassy Nassau Public Diplomacy Section is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards that create partnerships to promote common objectives and exchanges between the United States and The Bahamas. Awards will be given based on availability of funds. The U.S. Embassy seeks to inform and share with audiences in The Bahamas about the United States, its culture, society, government, economic, and political systems, and values through programs focusing on the priority areas outlined below. To further these goals, proposals must include American content, which can include speakers who are experts in U.S. policy, academia, culture, and economics; the use of U.S. training models or materials; exchanges with U.S. institutions; or promotion of U.S. culture and art. This opportunity is open to persons who participated in U.S. government sponsored programs. Bahamian alumni can submit proposals as individuals or as the head of an NGO. Funding Priorities: The U.S. Embassy invite U.S. government exchange alumni to submit proposals to support activities directly aimed at improving communities, providing new opportunities for citizen participation, and promoting and developing issues of public interest. Some examples of projects can meet the requirement could include (but are not limited to) proposals that relate to the following areas: Entrepreneurship support programs focused on the empowerment of women and girls. Promoting a more inclusive society. Integrating marginalized groups or individuals into communities. Preparing Bahamian youth to become future leaders in a global economy. Promoting environmental conservation and combating climate change. Supporting the work of Bahamian civil society organizations in areas of mutual U.S.- Bahamas interest. Expanding exchanges that provide audiences in The Bahamas (with a focus on youth, women, and marginalized communities) a deeper understanding of the US and shared values with The Bahamas.
