U.S. Wind Power: Next Gen Drivetrain Development: Through this Funding Opportunity Announcement, the Wind and Water Power Program within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is interested in developing next generation wind turbine drivetrain technologies to reduce the cost of energy (COE) produced by wind turbines. Advances in drivetrain technologies are expected to have a direct effect on capital costs, operation and maintenance (O&M) costs, replacement costs, and/or lifetime energy production.
