USAID’s Health Project in Timor-Leste: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Timor-Leste Mission, is seeking applications (proposals for funding) from U.S. or non-U.S. non-profit or for-profit nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and other non-USG organizations to implement a health project which will support the Mission’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy’s (CDCS) development objective of strengthening institutional and human capacity to improve the lives of Timor-Leste’s citizens. The project will contribute to Intermediate Result-2 (IR-2) under the CDCS, “Increased Capacity to Deliver Responsive Services at National and Sub-National Levels,” and Sub-IR 2.1, “Improved Implementation of Government of Timor-Leste (GOTL) Policies and Programs to Deliver Key Public Services.” The key partners of this program will be the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Institute of Health Sciences (INS), in Timor Leste. This project aims to support the MOH to enhance the capacity of health personnel to deliver services in maternal and newborn health.
