Understanding HIV Persistence in Infants (R01): The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to stimulate research in the pathogenesis of perinatal HIV-1 infection by elucidating HIV-1 immune responses in the setting of the infant's evolving immune system and mechanisms of establishment and maintenance of HIV-1 latent viral reservoirs. The goal of this FOA is to gain knowledge to be used in the future development of strategies to induce HIV-1 remission.
