Vegetation and Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Monitoring: The project will require six interns to conduct field work, collect data, and help manage data related to several ongoing natural resource management projects in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Projects that four of the interns will be working on include long-term forest plot monitoring, vegetation mapping accuracy assessment, wetlands inventory, and inventory of at-risk/collectible plant populations. Two interns will work on aquatic macroinvertebrate monitoring. Data collected will assist GRSM management efforts to protect important natural resources throughout GRSM.
