Winter Bat Monitoring Interns: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD: This funding announcement is not a request for applications or proposals. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service's intent to award a non-competitive Cooperative Agreement in accordance with Department of Interior, 505 Departmental Manual 2.12C. The objective of this agreement is to conduct field monitoring of at-risk bat populations in Mammoth Cave National park to assist in the study and protection of bats associated with the spread of White Nose Syndrome (WNS), a devastating disease impacting bat populations in the eastern U.S. The interns will assist a variety of NPS staff and other researchers with protocols involving assessing status of bat populations, including endangered species, which are threatened by White-nose syndrome.
