Women's Amplified Voices in the Economy (WAVE): The Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to respond to submit a statement of interest (SOI) outlining concepts and capacity to manage a program that will strengthen grassroots, women-led networks and coalitions to address systemic barriers impeding women’s access to economic opportunity and decision-making over economic resources and assets to advance women’s economic security. Competitive SOIs must propose a consortium of U.S.-based and/or international organizations with global reach and diverse experience addressing women’s economic security, with one lead organization serving as the primary recipient/applicant. Consortium members must demonstrate strong ties to local non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, business associations, and/or community-based organizations across chosen countries who can serve as local partners as appropriate. Consortium members will demonstrate expertise across technical thematic areas outlined in the proposal results framework, including but not limited to in women’s entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, women’s labor rights and decent work opportunities, and addressing and responding to gender-based violence impeding women’s economic participation.
