Administrative Supplements for the U.S.-Japan Brain Research Cooperative Program (BRCP) - U.S. Entity (Administrative Supplement): The National Institutes of Health (NIH) announces the continuation of the U.S. entity of the U.S.-Japan Brain Research Cooperative Program (BRCP). This administrative supplement program will provide funds to research projects that are currently supported by the participating NIH Institutes and Centers. The purpose of the BRCP is to promote scientist exchange, training, and collaborations in basic, translational and clinical research between neuroscientists from the U.S. and Japan. The U.S. entity of the BRCP supports the following activities: 1) Visit of U.S. scientists to conduct collaborative research and/or to acquire advanced research skills in Japanese institutions. 2) Joint workshops to exchange scientific information and to foster collaborations.

Other Eligible Applicants include the following:
Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions; Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISISs); Eligible Agencies of the Federal Government; Faith-based or Community-based Organizations; Hispanic-serving Institutions; Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs); Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Other than Federally Recognized); Regional Organizations; Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs) ; U.S. Territory or Possession; This announcement is for supplements to existing projects. To be eligible, the parent award must be active and the research proposed in the supplement must be accomplished within the competitive segment. The proposed supplement must be to provide for an increase in costs due to unforeseen circumstances. All additional costs must be within the scope of the peer reviewed and approved project.

IMPORTANT: The research proposed by the NIH grantee in the supplement application must be within the original scope of the NIH-supported grant project. Similarly, the scope of the proposed collaborative research activities and workshops should be well aligned with the aims of the parent award.
